Yes, another which profession thread.
Your probaly getting sick and tired of these lol but could really do with some help now.
So far, the professions that i am interested in is; Ranger Dervish Paragon Necro Thing is, ive already wasted money on professions, buying elite armor, ect.. And im really not the person to play X amount of prof's, i prefere to stick to one and work on that one only. The problems whith each prof follows; Ranger - Mainly used for Condition spreading and interupting. Dervish - Nice damage but maybe lack of self healing? Always seem to die too fast. Paragon - Mainly used as support or Imbagon. Necro - Mainly degen or MM. Right, as for my play style, i prefere to be dealing how high numbers, now, as from what i wrote from above, you would think Dervish would be good, but like i said, i just cant seem to survive. I am playing my Paragon at the mo and tbh, quite enjoying it but slowing going away from it also, mainly because i know im gonna be asked for buffs, not DPS'ing. So, im really stuck now as i dont wish to waste any more money on profs im not gonna stick to. Thanks for your help. |

yeah dervs are actually rather hard to take down
[skill]mystic regeneration[/skill] if the derv has a couple enchantments and no one on the opposing side has enchantment removal, then your in for a long fight. back to the OPs question. Out of those four I would go with necromancer. They have a variety of different ways to play. They are deff not just for degen or mms. necros are finally given their shine in the spotlight now with the discord/sabway build, thanks to the power of soul reaping. |

since derv is the only frontline listed in your post, then i'd say go with a derv rangers seem to pop up as damage dealers here and there, but anet continues to nerf most of the damage dealing build options. |

[Faithful Intervention][Watchful Intervention] <- use these, and if you still lack survivability as a Dervish... you may need to think about reading some guides on proper playing styles, personally I think Dervs are the best for tanking/high damage output combined...
If you are simply looking for high damage output, use either an Elementalist or an Assassin... both have extremely high damage outputs, one is just more supportive as opposed to the others up front and personal style (unless of course you are running some form of critical bow build) My personal favorite overall is the Warrior, great survivability if played properly and can put out some pretty decent numbers (I wasn't trying to flame you in any way, I hope it didn't seem that way) PS: I hope this helped. |

Necro all the way. I don't care much for the melee classes, but thats just me. Necros are very versatile. Lots of armor ignoring damage like [spiteful spirit] and [discord]. They can also pull up lots of meat shields that also work well with [barbs] and [mark of pain]. They are very efficient healers as a N/Rt with almost unlimited energy due to soul reaping. One of the best classes there is for HM. There only drawback is that they are good solo farmers, not great, but neither is most of the other classes you have listed so I'm guessing that is not important to you right now.
As mentioned earlier, I prefer casters over melee, so I'm a little more biased to the necro. The other classes are also very good in their own right. My preference would be in this order: 1. Necro 2. Dervish 3. Ranger 4. Paragon |

imbagons make HM missions and vanqs stuff fairly easy but necro's have a ton of versatility and can be used in pretty much all areas as well. i would pick between those two. warrior>derv for reg tank and ranger=more tactical and less fun and less versatile.

Dervish is my favorite profession in the game (though Mesmer's creeping up there). And they definitely do not lack self-healing; in fact they have tons of it. They're also really versatile, which is fun.

I really enjoy playing my dervish. They have a variety of skill types and have amazing self heals. If being on the frontlines isn't your style, then I would suggest ranger, although the skills aren't as fun to use (in my opinion) as dervishes.

Imbagons get incredibly boring after a while. If you are planning to stick with it for a long time I suppose you won't have trouble finding a group, but they will make you play imbagon or motigon
Necro's are great for farming and I find MM'ing to be quite fun, but since you already have several elite armor sets then money must not be an issue for you Rangers are always fun to play as regardless of the build you use (imho) Plenty of farming builds and a whole spectrum of PvE builds [lolol this can be said about any proffesion]. I enjoy them because I always feel like I'm doing something, and they can fit into most groups. + their equip is awesome So yeah, rangers |

Rangers, in my opinion. You can do shatton of things with rangers.
Trapping, turreting, interrupting, cond spreading, scything, daggering, petting, touching, thumping, farming, spirit spamming, mage-hating, splint barraging, etc... Basically anything that doesn't involve extensive use of spells. As far as efficiency with damage goes, (assuming this is PvE) splint barraging can really clean up, and if that gets boring, you can take go daggers or scythes. As far as melee combat goes, rangers have much easier time managing energy than sins or dervishes and better survival rate with higher elemental armor and bunch of stances. When I get bored, I either dagger through a mission or cripple people in AB with traps and crippling shots. |

I enjoy guildwars mostly because you can have a active playstyle. Not very suprising my mains are monk and ranger, followed up by mesmer. I find it <3 needing to react fast in either way it heals or with interupts. Some characters are just laybackrelaxstyle imo. Chaining the same combination of skills. Therefor out of you're list I would pick Ranger. Paragon seems kind of a one type prof to me (never played it though) and not many variations of builds. Dervish can be very strong, just as necro SS (don't go MM, bores the hack out of you) Depending on what you are going to do with you're characters you can rearrange the list. Mostly elite area's? I would pick necro. Mostly HM mission/VQ, I would go paragon or ranger. Hope I helped

If you want to play defensively then imbagon is the way to go. Downside is that it gets boring, fast.
If you want to see lolwut damage then necromancer is the way to go. Downside is that you'll never learn proper energy management because it never runs out on you. Curses + PvE-only skills + Assassin's Promise = death incarnate. |

Necs are as broken in pve as imbagon, and much more interesting.
